General Release of Liability
By my signature on the Trip Roster for my travel to Wood Island, I, on behalf of myself and any and all successors in interest, hereby release and forever discharge the Friends of Wood Island Lighthouse, the American Lighthouse Foundation and the U.S. Coast Guard as well as, any and all employees, volunteers, agents, members, and affiliates related in any way thereto, from any and all claims arising directly or indirectly from, or attributable in any legal way to any negligent act or omission of any such person(s), organizations, and related affiliates in connection with my transportation to Wood Island and my visit to the Lighthouse and Tower.
I also acknowledge that certain activities involved in the transportation to the Island and the visit to the Lighthouse and Tower premises are inherently dangerous activities, that I am freely participating in these activities and that I am specifically assuming the full risk of any and all injury or loss of any kind, for whatever reason, that may result from my participation or the participation of my boat crew. I am entering into this General Release in return for being permitted to visit the Wood Island Lighthouse and Tower. By signing the trip roster, I also agree that the laws of the State of Maine shall govern the interpretation and effect of this General Release.
Covenant Not to Sue: I also hereby agree, covenant and promise not to sue on, or as a result of, any Claims against the Friends of Wood Island Lighthouse, the American Lighthouse Foundation or the U.S. Coast Guard or the employees, volunteers, agents, members, and affiliates related thereto arising either directly or indirectly from or attributable in any legal way, to my participation, and I agree to hold them completely harmless.
